Otaku Page 4
“It won’t be goodbye, my love.” Terasaka nipped at her breasts before capturing a nipple in his mouth and sucking on it deeply. She felt the tugging straight into her core.
“Yes,” she moaned and reached down to slip him inside her.
He sat up, impaling her. His face buried in her chest as he serviced one breast and then the other. Bouncing up and down on him made her frantic for completion even as another part of her wanted this moment to last forever.
Terasaka flopped back to the mattress and let her have her way with him. Darting his fingers between their bodies, he massaged her clit as she drove her hips into him again and again. She watched him watch her and saw the moment when Kai tried to take over. Her thighs tightened. Terasaka couldn’t fight his own orgasm and Kai’s intervention. When he came, his eyes turned golden.
“Awkward,” Ashley said and leaned in to kiss him.
He pushed her off him and got up to get dressed.
“So that’s it then?” she said.
“Perhaps I’m leaving you without a word for six months. See how you like it.”
“What about the kami?”
“Sada is weakened. You’ve bested her so she won’t try for you again.”
“That’s not what Terasaka said. And you said she wanted revenge against Terasaka. What better way than to possess his woman?”
Kai glared at her as he buckled up his pants. “She was his woman. He used her and left her. And when he refused to marry her or acknowledge the child was his, she had no choice but to do what she did.”
“He’s sorry.”
“Are you sure about that? As far as Sada is concerned, you got what’s coming to you. Especially if you become pregnant.”
“I’m on the pill.”
“Still?” He looked down at his socks.
“Habit.” Ashley put her hand on his shoulder.
“Really?”
“Kai, can’t we salvage this?”
“You mean us?” He shrugged her hand off. “No, there is no us. You’re fucking another man.”
“With your body.”
“Wasn’t that why you were so mad about Miyo?”
Ashley screamed into the pillow. “Yes,” she said after she had emptied her lungs.
“Oh, but it’s different now because it’s you who are being pleasured.”
“No, it’s not different.” She rubbed her eyes. “You’re right. I guess I just thought...well, I wasn’t thinking. Not with my head anyway.”
Kai buttoned up his shirt. “Maybe he wants to share you with me. But I don’t want you if you’re with him. Understand?”
“Yes, I do. You’re making it perfectly clear.” Ashley tried to keep the bitterness out. “I’m not sure when this got so serious. Somewhere between me leaving you and Terasaka coming back, I realized I love you and want to be with you. Even if you do have an alter ego.”
“I can’t love you when he is inside of me.”
“That doesn’t make sense. Either you love me or you don’t. He is irrelevant.”
“He wasn’t irrelevant a few minutes ago.”
Ashley turned her face away.
“If it makes you feel better, you can slap me so we’re even.” He leaned in.
Ashley grabbed him and kissed him instead, expecting him to shove her away. But he didn’t. He ground his mouth into hers until she tasted blood and it was she who pushed him away.
“Symmetry,” Kai said. “This whole situation is like a poem.”
“I better not read about this in Samurai XI.” Ashley was letting the tears flow now.
“Don’t cry,” he said. “I’m not worth it.”
“Yeah, you kinda are. Even when you’re being a douche bag.”
He kissed her softly this time, licking away the pain and the blood.
“Stay with me,” she begged.
“Don’t ask me again,” he said and rested his forehead on hers.
Then he was gone.
Ashley eventually made herself get dressed and go back home. Only the sight of the three hentai books cheered her up a bit. Her love life was in shambles, but at least her fantasy life would remain the same. She was too tired and depressed to even pick them off the floor. Stripping, she face planted on her bed.
The courtyard had white marbled statues of men and women engaging in erotic acts. The sakura blossoms rained down like snowflakes, covering the ground with their sweet scent. Ashley, clad again in her kimono, glided over to the sculpture. When she touched it, the cold stone was warm and vibrating.
“Aren’t you the surprise?” Sada asked from behind her.
Ashley jumped back and clenched her fists. “You are not in control of me.”
“No, but I was along for the ride.”
“That’s not true.” Ashley shook her head, horrified. “I would have felt you.”
“You don’t become my age without knowing how to hide.”
“Terasaka would have sensed you.”
“Perhaps he did.” Sada smiled. “He is quite the man, isn’t he?”
“Look, he’s paying for his sins. He is trying to make amends for what he did in life. He’s killed demons, returned property to the rightful owners, solved mysteries.”
“Has my child grown up?”
Ashley shook her head.
“Did I die of old age? No, then he will never be at peace.”
“You killed your child when you killed yourself.”
“I had no other choice. There were no pills back then and the men wouldn’t wear sheaths. And this is my punishment.”
“Then you should have kept your legs closed,” Ashley said, throwing herself backward as the fan came for her throat.
“You are a very wicked girl.”
“I thought you liked that in a host.”
“I like them weak minded and that you are not.”
“So are we at an impasse?”
“Oh, no. We are at a moment of truce. You’ll know it’s over when it is you who are a passenger in your own body, just like your beloved Kai.”
“He hates me,” she said. “But Terasaka loves me so maybe he can convince Kai to give me a second chance.”
“You are a fool for falling for Kichimon Terasaka. He has only ever looked out for himself.”
“People can change. Sometimes they need time.”
“Impossible.”
“You can change.”
Sada arched a brow. “Why would I want to?”
“Well, for one thing, demon slayers would stop trying to destroy you.”
“They haven’t succeeded so far.”
“And you could have a chance at a normal life with me.”
“Please, you’re going to run to the exorcist the first chance you get.”
“Not if you don’t try and make me into a sex fiend drug addict.”
“You do have two extremely virile men as your lovers.”
“Well,” Ashley said. “Not anymore.”
Sada waved her hand in dismissal. “I know men. If Terasaka doesn’t come back to you the next time he’s in control, then once Kai is done sulking, he will return to your bed.”
“If you teach me to fight with that fan, we can go on our own adventures and not have to wait around for them.”
Sada tapped her fan against the marble statue. “I can still turn on you at any moment.”
“I can still get an exorcist and cut you into offerings for the elements.”
“I’ll consider it.”
Ashley watched her saunter away into the gardens, stopping briefly to smell a rose. Maybe Kai was right. There was symmetry in this.
The next morning, Ashley felt like she had a sake hangover, but she was sore in all the right places. However, her grin disappeared when she realized that she had lost both of the men she loved and gained a lust demon.
“Never a dull moment,” she said and got into the shower.
Apparently, she wasn’t the only one who had over imbibed last night. The office was a quiet
affair and even Julien didn’t come down to say hi. At lunch time, she decided to go out. Taking her brown bag out to a park bench, she sat down to see what happened to the tentacle probed princess and her punishments.
“To your left,” Ashley heard Sada’s voice as if she was whispering in her ear. She looked in that direction and saw a fox watching her. No one seemed to notice the creature and it didn’t seem to be afraid of her.
“Burn, demon,” it snarled and Ashley felt Sada push her out of the way as a fireball shot out of the fox’s outstretched hands.
“Die, witch,” Ashley said in a voice not her own and pulled three shuriken from her pocket. Where the throwing stars came from or how they got there, Ashley didn’t remember. The bladed orbs sank into the creature’s eyes and in the middle of his forehead. In a flash of light, the fox disappeared. Ashley was gathering up the stars when she felt the light step of a swordsman behind her.
Kicking out, Ashley reached for another star only to be stopped by a katana at her throat.
“Kichimon,” she started to say.
“Ashley calls me by my family name. Tell me, Sada, were you always an assassin or is this something you learned over the years?”
“My hosts have taught me well.”
“Get out of her.”
“Make me,” she said. “Perhaps I’ll get a tattoo as well.”
Terasaka’s fingers were white knuckled on his sword. “I’ll give you what you want.”
“And what do you think I want?”
“I will go with you. Into the underworld.”
“You’ll leave Kai?”
“If you leave Ashley.”
“Why now? Why after all these years of sticking your nose in other people’s business and righting wrongs? Why would you give that all up to go to your judgment? For love?” she sneered.
He sheathed the sword. Ashley’s fingers twitched on the star, but she didn’t release it. “Because, Sada, this is my business. I have been running from you all my lives. It’s time to stop running.”
“You’re doing this for her,” she snarled and hauled her arm back to strike him.
He caught the hand easily and pulled her to him. Terasaka kissed her ardently, with the passion of a lover come home at last. Ashley felt weightless for a moment before a rubber band-like snap popped her back into control of her body. Opening up her eyes, she stared into Kai’s golden gaze.
“Not my fault this time,” she said and tried to step away, but he held her tight.
“He’s gone,” he said.
“You look sad.”
“I believe I will miss him.”
“As strange as it sounds, I was looking forward to being a kick ass ninja bitch.” Ashley felt hollow inside. She lost Terasaka and her own ghost. And as soon as Kai realized he was holding on to her, she would lose him too.
“Mmmm,” Kai said and carefully took out the hair pins to let her hair fall around her face. “I like it down on your shoulders. It reminds me how you looked when you were astride me.”
“Don’t tease me,” Ashley said. “You said it was over and now it is. You’re going back to Japan and I’m going to go back to my cubicle and raid the vending machine.” She indicated the pigeons that were attacking her sandwich with relish.
“I said I wouldn’t share you with Terasaka. And now that he’s gone, I won’t have to.”
“Well, now you can’t use him as an excuse to ignore me when you’re in the zone.”
“I’m sure, koneko, you can find a way to get my attention.”
Ashley gave him a funny look, but his eyes remained amber and not the chocolate brown of the ronin. “You need to say the words,” she said to him.
Kai’s lips crooked into a smile. “I bought an original story board of the Ranma ½ wedding scene. Rumiko Takahashi autographed it for you.”
Ashley felt the warmth of his love fill the emptiness Sada had left inside of her.
“Good enough,” Ashley said and kissed him until the pigeons started pecking at their feet.
